Man gets 20 years in POCSO case

Additional District and Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar on Wednesday sentenced a man to 20 years of imprisonment in a case of committing an obscene act with a 3-year-old in 2020.

According to the police, it was in April 2020 when the father of the minor filed a complaint against a man and alleged that he had committed an obscene act with his daughter. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Sector 53 police station and later the police arrested the accused. The accused was identified as one Chotelal.

“On the basis of the chargesheet filed by the Gurugram police with the evidence and witnesses, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar declared the accused guilty. The court has sentenced the accused to 20 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act,” said Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson of Gurugram police.
