Rs 39 cr released for textbooks to SC students: Minister

Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr Baljit Kaur has said that the state government had released Rs 39.69 crore for providing free textbooks to Scheduled Caste (SC) students across the state.

She said the amount had been released under the Free Textbooks Scheme for Scheduled Caste students from Classes I to X. She emphasised that the amount was to be utilised strictly for the intended purpose, as specified in the scheme.
