A local court has granted bail to a person, Faruk Malik, arrested in an attempt to murder case registered on February 10, under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act at Police Station, Sector 26, Chandigarh.

The case was registered on the complaint of a person, Varinder Rana, who said on February 9, Faruk Malik, along with his accomplices, came to the shop and threatened him not to park his truck there, otherwise he would face dire consequences. Next day Faruk and Sajid came to the rear of his shop, where Sajid took out a pistol and threatened him. He pulled the trigger two-three times, but it did not fire. Seeing this, Rana pushed him away and fled.

Jagtar Kureel and Raman Sihag, advocates for the accused, said the accused was ready to abide by all terms imposed by this court. After hearing the arguments, the court granted bail to the accused.
