Shiva nets hat-trick in hockey tourney

Chandigarh, August 28

Shivam netted a hat-trick to help Panjab University Hockey Club log a 3-0 win over Government Model High School, Sector 42, during the ongoing Chandigarh State Sub-Junior (boys and girls) Hockey Championships being held at the Sector 42 sports complex.

Shivam netted the opening goal in the sixth minute, followed by more goals in the 47th and 51st minutes to help his side log an easy win. Chandigarh Hockey Academy (CHA) (Red) defeated CHA (Blue) 2-0. Rajit Singh converted two penalty corners for the winning team.

In the girls’ category, Panjab University Hockey Club logged a 7-0 win over Chandigarh Hockey Academy, Sector 18, while Government Model High School, Sector 42, registered a 5-0 win over Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35.
