Two held for Baltana liquor vend robbery

Zirakpur, August 28

The police have arrested two Abheypur, Panchkula, residents for their alleged involvement in the attack on a liquor vend employee and loot in Harmilap Nagar, Phase 1, of Baltana here last Sunday night around 11 pm.

The suspects were identified as Rajiv Kumar and Mukesh Kumar.

The police said the weapon used in the crime and three live rounds were also recovered from them.

In all, six persons were involved in the loot. Four of them had entered the liquor vend and robbed it after stabbing the employee. Rajiv Kumar had fired a gunshot in which the employee was injured.

The police said all suspects were in the age group of 19 to 22 years and were employed as caterers in a private firm. The police said all accused had been traced and the remaining four would be arrested soon.
